What is a marketing-qualified lead?

A marketing-qualified lead or MQL is a term in B2B marketing referring to a qualified lead who interacts with your marketing team or your marketing activities but hasn’t entered the sales pipeline yet. 

They need to be reviewed a couple of times before you can send them to the sales department.

Some criteria can be looked at, including

  • Web page visit
  • Download
  • CTA button click
  • Social media interaction
